Smerkk likes making music for the broken. For the damaged. For the weirdos. Simply because he is one. He’s brutally honest and sometimes boarder-line cringey, but relatable. You won’t hear Smerkk speaking on jewelry or cars because he has none. It’s that simple. Smerkk’s in the middle of a transition from “sad boy hip-hop” to an upbeat alternative sound that’s perfect for the radio while still staying true to himself. We have yet to see Smerkk’s final form.
Smerkk has a very large back catalog containing four 10 track albums on all platforms along with singles. His genre bending sound ranges from melodic hip hop/rap to R&B, soul, to indie pop punk to alt rock and the list goes on. Don’t sleep on this kid.

This song tells an old and familiar story of the uphill battle, whether that be a dream, a passion, a relationship, a career, a belief , etc. When putting your heart and soul into something, it doesn’t matter how unpopular that thing that you’re fighting for is, or how unlikely it is to be achieved. As long as YOU can see the vision, and as long as the uphill battle is being fought in the name of love, whether it is lost or won is ultimately irrelevant.
